New Stuff!

Rowan "Handknit Cotton"...
We're already selling it for Spring knitting, such as baby hats and sweaters.

It's like Christmas!!!

Ozark Handspun, you've got to see this stuff!

And my personal favorite, Misti Alpaca! I'm making a pair of fingerless gloves and our customers are enjoying it for sweaters and hats. We have coordinating solids, as well.

There's more to come, so stay tuned!

Back From The Trade Show!

Ozark2, originally uploaded by Starlit Nest.

Well, I'm back from the San Diego trade show: TNNA. It was simply HEAVENLY! Not only did I get to meet and see designers like Debbie Bliss, Kaffe Fasset, Louisa Harding and Vikkie Howell from Knitty Gritty, but I got to see all the exciting colors and designs that are ready for Spring. Of course I wanted to buy from each and every vendor, but had to control myself and stuck to what I believe will be the delight of all our customers. Very soon we'll be getting yarn from Muench, including "Touch Me" (it's like velvet!), "Tara" (soft, soft, soft), and a yarn that is so much like cashmere but without the high ticket price, truly amazing! Muench also has great patterns. We'll also be getting yummy organic cottons from "Blue Sky Alpaca" along with a new yarn called "Brushed Suri" and their wonderful patterns. If you've been enjoying our "Misti Alpaca" (the most popular yarn in the store right now) you are going to LOVE their variegated alpaca and coordinating solids. Debbie Bliss "Alpaca Silk" will be back, along with Noro "Kureyon", new sock yarns, lace weight yarns, washable yarns, new totes, patterns, books, and so much more! So keep your eye on this blog! We'll let you know when everything starts arriving at the shop! The photo above is me wearing a WILD shawl from Ozark Wools... just wait till you see this hand-dyed wool... it's really incredible. Happy Knitting Everyone!!!

Our Luminous Customers...

Check out this amazing scarf made using Berroco "Foliage" and the mitered square technique. This beautiful technique is a great way to use self-striping yarn. The book "Modular Knits" will get you started if this is something you'd like to learn how to do.

Diane shows off her very first crocheted flower for an afghan she is making. She will using a variety of colors for the flower petals. How many do you have left to make Diane? Ohhh, only about 200 more, right?

Carol makes incredible afghans and is so generous that she gives them away as gifts! Can you believe how much work went into this one? Great job, Carol!
